How to Treat ROSACEA
What is Rosacea?
According to National Rosacea Society, Rosacea (pronounced "roh-ZAY-sha") is a chronic and potentially life-disruptive disorder primarily of the facial skin, often characterized by flare-ups and remissions. Many have observed that it typically begins any time after age 30 as redness on the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead, which may come and go. In some cases, rosacea may also occur on the neck, chest, scalp or ears. There is accumulating evidence that Rosacea is also an autoimmune disorder, although the mechanism is not fully understood.
Treatments for Rosacea:
Treatment regimes for Rosacea range from laser therapy to antibiotics and immune-suppressing drugs. There is a link between all these skin conditions and the immune response. In many instances, flare-ups are seasonal and associated with situations where the immune system is challenged. When you are at the peak of your health, your skin will be rehydrated and well balanced. In many cases steroid based ointments are used. However as with all medicines, all these products have side effects associated with them.
